A minor bathroom fixture upgrade project turned into a complete plumbing upgrade/overhaul for our bathtub??!! NUTS! We started off wanting to replace the shower head, but decided since the rest of the fixtures in the tub were not very good (old, not 100% functional) it was worth swapping them all at the same time. Turns out there were no shut off valves for just the shower/tub area so basically when we shut off the water to the house we had to shut off ALL the water in the house. Not good.
Andrew was able to get two shut off valves installed (shown below) by 11:30 pm on Saturday night so we could turn the water in the house back on. Then he spent the better part of Sunday replacing all the copper piping joints. I am SUPER impressed with his plumber skills and he definitely has a hang for the whole soldering pipes thing. Whole project finally wrapped up around 5pm Sunday night...and the new shower head/tub fixtures are great!!! Who knew Andrew had such mad plumbing skills? Projects involving water just freak me out; good thing he is brave! Below are some photos of the new shower head and the plumbing work that Andrew installed. Glad to have this one behind us.
Another reason the weekend was soo busy is that I had a big work project I needed to wrap up since it just never seems to get done when I'm at the office. The next issue of our company newsletter is behind schedule so I spent the better part of the three day weekend buried with my nose in my laptop getting content written up for that. Glad to have most of the content written up! So you can only imagine the chaos of writing articles, running to assist Andrew with the plumbing chaos project...it was a hectic weekend.
In addition, we finally got a shed for all our lawn equipment this past weekend and were able to have some of our neighbors assemble that (for a nominal fee) so that really helped out to not have to build that all out ourselves. It turned out really great and we are loving the extra space in our garage!!
