A couple weeks back, we picked up a little book titled "100 things you're not supposed to know". Just from the headlines alone, it is an intriguing read - here are a couple samples:
1) One in three american homeless men is a military veteran. Veterans comprise 6 percent of the overall population, but they're 23 percent of the homeless. Of all homeless men, one-third are vets.
2) The US imprisons more of its population than any other country. The US is home to almost 5 percent of the world's population, yet it holds 22 percent of the world's prisoners.
Found both of these entries to be intriguing so thought I'd share them.
