The big news in our town these days is that we're getting a REAL grocery store (FINALLY)!!! We are just tickled pink to actually have them breaking ground and getting moving on this. It can't start up soon enough. The poor excuse for a grocery we currently have in town we probably haven't even been to in a year or two. It is awful: smelly; poor selection; over priced and NEVER OPEN.
The new grocery is located really close to the highway and on the newer side of town so it should get plenty of business. Right now we grab our groceries on our way home from work at one of three towns we pass through. Otherwise if we need something when we're at home, we have to drive seven miles over to Jordan to pick things up. This is going to be great!!! Haven't heard when it will open...maybe late this summer/early fall. We'll see =)
In other notable news, I just read in the county paper today that the state finally approved a HUGE road construction project to fix all the issues at the 494/169 intersection which is right next to my work. We're really excited to hear this news since that is one of the worst intersections in the twin cities area due to the stoplights on the highway. Looking forward to the day when traffic actually moves freely through that area and there are no longer huge backups. Construction on that is schedule to being in spring 2011!!!
