Books vs movies

We watched some of the Lord of the Rings (Fellowship of the ring and two towers) this weekend on tv. This was the first time I'd seen either of those movies since reading the books this winter. It was interesting to see the differences between what's in the books and what they put into the movies. While both of the movies are very long, they just don't contain all the fabulous little details you get when you read the books. I'm planning to read the third Lord of the Rings book later this month once I finish "Modoc".

We are excited tonight to watch the fourth episode of a 10-part miniseries on HBO that's called "The Pacific". It is from the same group (including Tom Hanks) that produced the 10-part miniseries "Band of Brothers" from a few years back. We are really enjoying watching it. It has a similar style as the Band of Brothers series but follows a group of Marines serving in the pacific during World War II. The series is really well done and we can't wait to see what tonight's installment will bring! If you liked Band of Brothers, you should definitely check this one out as well!

On the motorized chair project front...Andrew is VERY excited about the fact that he got both of the controllers for his chair to work properly this weekend!! This is huge progress!!! Now both wheel motors operate in forward and reverse; very exciting! So, he's now figuring out how to mount the joystick/switches onto the arms of the chair. Stay tuned!!
